At the beginning of 7th grade I didn’t know very much about writing or about blogging. But it didn’t take long to figure it out.

As you can see in the pictures my writing was short and not very well written in the beginning, but as I learned the ways from Mrs. Kriese, my writing evolved and became more of a blog the just one paragraph. Some of the things that helped my writing were paragraphing, punctuation and just practice itself. I also learned how to show your emotions instead of telling about it.

As you can see my writing has come a long way this year, and if you are an incoming seventh grader yours will too.

7th Grade Reflections

7th grade is crae, when I first arrived in august I expected it to be easy, and that I would blow through it without a problem. But I soon realized that it was not.

By October my life was turned upside down. We had tons of homework and the lessons just got harder and harder, and eventually I figured out that I was never going to figure this out.
In 7th grade I learned Spanish, English and that Grayson can throw a tight spiral… To the other team.

Another thing that I learned was that if you are going to do athletics, you better be ready to get up early every morning and work. Football is really fun but as I said earlier there is a lot of work involved, such as hitting dummies, running sprints and working through even the toughest challenges

My advice to next years 7th graders is to start running now, before you get caught in all of the problems that come with seventh grade .

Challenge Week Six: Poem

I am Sam

I am Sam
Sam I am

That Sam-I-am
That Sam-I-am!
I do not like
that Sam-I-am

Do you like
green eggs and ham

I do not like them,
Sam-I-am.
I do not like
green eggs and ham.

Would you like them
Here or there?

I would not like them
here or there.
I would not like them
anywhere.
I do not like
green eggs and ham.
I do not like them,
Sam-I-am

Would you like them
in a house?
Would you like them
with a mouse?

I do not like them
in a house.
I do not like them
with a mouse.
I do not like them
here or there.
I do not like them
anywhere.
I do not like green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

Would you eat them
in a box?
Would you eat them
with a fox?

Not in a box.
Not with a fox.
Not in a house.
Not with a mouse.
I would not eat them here or there.
I would not eat them anywhere.
I would not eat green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

Would you? Could you?
in a car?
Eat them! Eat them!
Here they are.

I would not ,
could not,
in a car

You may like them.
You will see.
You may like them
in a tree?
d not in a tree.
I would not, could not in a tree.
Not in a car! You let me be.

I do not like them in a box.
I do not like them with a fox
I do not like them in a house
I do mot like them with a mouse
I do not like them here or there.
I do not like them anywhere.
I do not like green eggs and ham.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

A train! A train!
A train! A train!
Could you, would you
on a train?

Not on a train! Not in a tree!
Not in a car! Sam! Let me be!
I would not, could not, in a box.
I could not, would not, with a fox.
I will not eat them with a mouse
I will not eat them in a house.
I will not eat them here or there.
I will not eat them anywhere.
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.

Say!
In the dark?
Here in the dark!
Would you, could you, in the dark?

I would not, could not,
in the dark.

Would you, could you,
in the rain?

I would not, could not, in the rain.
Not in the dark. Not on a train,
Not in a car, Not in a tree.
I do not like them, Sam, you see.
Not in a house. Not in a box.
Not with a mouse. Not with a fox.
I will not eat them here or there.
I do not like them anywhere!

You do not like
green eggs and ham?

I do not
like them,
Sam-I-am.

Could you, would you,
with a goat?

I would not,
could not.
with a goat!

Would you, could you,
on a boat?

I could not, would not, on a boat.
I will not, will not, with a goat.
I will not eat them in the rain.
I will not eat them on a train.
Not in the dark! Not in a tree!
Not in a car! You let me be!
I do not like them in a box.
I do not like them with a fox.
I will not eat them in a house.
I do not like them with a mouse.
I do not like them here or there.
I do not like them ANYWHERE!

I do not like
green eggs
and ham!

I do not like them,
Sam-I-am.

You do not like them.
SO you say.
Try them! Try them!
And you may.
Try them and you may I say.

Sam!
If you will let me be,
I will try them.
You will see.

Say!
I like green eggs and ham!
I do!! I like them, Sam-I-am!
And I would eat them in a boat!
And I would eat them with a goat…
And I will eat them in the rain.
And in the dark. And on a train.
And in a car. And in a tree.
They are so good so good you see!

So I will eat them in a box.
And I will eat them with a fox.
And I will eat them in a house.
And I will eat them with a mouse.
And I will eat them here and there.
Say! I will eat them ANYWHERE!

I do so like
green eggs and ham!
Thank you!
Thank you,
Sam-I-am

This is a poem called Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. I picked this poem because I used to read it all the time when I was younger, and it reminds me of my childhood.

Challenge Week Five: Media and a Memory

When I was little, I couldn’t go a day without my football. It was a small blue and orange football and it was the most fun of all of the toys that I had. It made all of my other toys look like chop liver.

But not only was it a football it also had something a little bit different. It had these little air holes that when you threw it made a whistling sound, and now when I here a little whistle it makes me think of that great childhood toy.

While I played with the football as a kid, I always pretended that I was an NFL running back. I would run through the house dodging the couches and my parents and I would run in to my moms room, scream touchdown and spike the ball like Rob Gronkowski.

I loved my football, and if I didn’t have it as a kid I wouldn’t have ever got in to the game that I love so much.

Challenge #3: Favorite Apps

If your in the need for a new app, then I have a few cool apps that may or may not interest you.

Netflix- Any show that you want, anytime that you want and anywhere that you want. But not only that, there are no commercials to slow you down. If you are looking for a new show to watch, Netflix has it, even if you don’t know what “it” is yet.

MyNBA2k14-Fun game with just the right amount of basketball. There are seasons, Quick Games and Rivals Clash. But those are just some of the fun things to do on this. To figure out the other fun things, you have to download it for your self.

Instagram-Instagram is a fun way to stay up to date on what all of your friends are doing. Just take a picture, post it and all of your friends will see it.

YouTube- an app that has tons of cool and funny videos. From cats falling in bathtubs to guys making awesome basketball shots, youtube is awesome.

Flappy Golf-Flappy Golf is a new fun game that is a lot like the old game called Super Stickman Golf 2 but instead of if being golf it’s kind of like the old game, Flappy Bird. So I guess you could call it a fun game mix-up

Hope you have as much fun as I did with these games.

Challenge #2: Lake Austin

If you are coming to austin anytime soon , there is one place that you should definitely go, and that is Lake Austin. There is so much to do, it’s unbelievable.

On the lake you can catch many animals such as turtles, or even snakes if you have the guts. Then after that you can hop on a boat and go for a quick ride. After that you might even rent a kayak and row your way up and down the lake to your hearts content. You might even try fishing if you have any time after all of that.

But not only are there many activities, there are also places to eat so that you don’t ever have to leave the lake front – how cool is that. The first that you usually see is my favorite, Ski Shores. There is a lot you can get at Ski Shores including burgers, fries and chicken. But not only is there food, there is also a fun playground, and when you get hot on the playground you can get back in the cool, soothing water of the lake.

So if you ever come to Austin and need something to do just remember what I said about the lake, and maybe I will see you out there sometime.

Mack Brown

Did Texas need a new couch? YES!! I can give you a bunch of reasons that they needed a new coach.

First of all Mack Brown got way overly cocky winning the National Championship, and that only hurt the way that the team played and his recruiting skills.

Second of all the Texas football team needed a new coaching staff. They had Manny Diaz, who was a bad choice from the start. Then there was Major Applewhite; The Texas I know can do much better than him.

I am very happy that Texas is getting a new coach, and hopefully Charlie Strong will bring a National Championship with him.

Dreadful Homework

Finally the bell rings and one thought comes to mind “NO HOMEWORK!!!”, but then it’s all ruined by those 7 repulsive words ” class grab the homework before you go”. “Nooooooo”

I’m just a normal kid that doesn’t enjoy doing, nothing weird about that. Homework is just one those things that you would love to see Seal Team 6 go crazy on. Why do teachers even give homework, they are the ones that have or grade it and they are also killing trees. If there was anything I could do to stop homework I would, to save all of kids in generations to come.

Homework is like brussels sprouts, you try it once and never want to do it again, and that’s why I believe you shouldn’t have to.

The First Big Game

Tonight we have the first BIG game of the season. We are playing Lake Travis, and we have to win this game and the rest of them to come out with a winning record. We have only won one game so far which makes this games all that much bigger. We are going to need the luck of the Irish for this one.
