I Am From Poem

I am from…
I am from the basketball hoop outside my house
From my pantry and my comfy couch
I am from the big white house that I grew up in
from the unforgettable smell rubber in the basement

I am from Thanksgiving dinners and lots of turkey
from the annoying frog that used to sit outside my house and keep me up all night
I am from going to Maine every year to meet up with my cousins and grandparents
and from watching football all Sunday long
I am from “be nice to your sister” and “get off the couch”
and “life’s not fair”
I’m from playing elevator tag and trying not to get caught

I’m from California and USA
from Subway and pizza
From my grandpa being in the navy
captain of his submarine
and the many pictures of my family covering the walls of my house

Preposition Poem

Dribbling the ball up the court.
Stopping in front of the opposing team
Looking at the hoop
I shot the ball from beyond the arc
Over the many defenders
And despite my weariness
The ball goes through the hoop
Swish!

Time’s Up

I can’t believe it’s already over.
It felt like just yesterday I came to school for the first football practice, and what made it even worse was that I missed the last three games with a concussion.
Just as the coaches had said at the beginning if the year “the day after the Hill Country game you will miss football”. They were right except for the fact that they said the day after, not the second after.
But oh well at least it’s time for basketball season.

Halloween

I can’t believe it’s already here, it seemed like just yesterday was Halloween. But somehow it was already back.
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays for one reason only…candy.
I think like most of the other kids in America, and what I think is that having one night where you get to run around loading up on candy, and then eating it, is one of the best things ever.
Every Halloween my friends and I go to one house that always has the best candy bars. We get the most possible candy by going once, changing costumes and going back, then doing it again over and over again. It’s also fun to just running up and down the street seeing cool lights and friends houses.
That’s why I like Halloween. I hope your Halloween is fun.

The Best Lacrosse Player In The League

The man I know as the best, you may know as #99 for the Boston Cannons, Paul Rabil. Born in 1985, they knew he was born to play lacrosse.
In college Rabil was the key contributor for the 2005 and the 2007 NCAA Championship winning Blue Jay teams. He was also given the 2007 McLaughlin Award for being the nations best NCAA midfielder. He was also the leading scorer all 3 trips to the NCAA championships.
After college he went on to play Major League Lacrosse(MLL) as a first round draft pick of the Boston Cannons. While he was there he won the MLL fastest shot competition, won the MLL MVP award, and many other awards.
He is still I the league playing better then ever, and hopefully that will continue.

Mexico

The first time I went to Mexico I was scared because of what my friends had told me. I got on the plane with my friend Noah nervously waiting for takeoff. After what felt like hours of waiting the plane finally left. When we landed the airport was really hot and I saw a lot of taxi drivers begging for business, but we weren’t interested because we had a hotel shuttle waiting to pick us up. We got in the shuttle and made our way to the hotel. We got there and saw the perfectly blue ocean, but there was no time to swim, we had to unpack and get ready for bed. I woke up the next morning and headed to the beach. We got on a boat and left for a fun day of snorkeling. The water was cold but that didn’t stop me. I swam down and saw sharks, starfish, stingrays, and even a rare eagle ray. We got back on the boat and it was time to go. By the time we got back it was dark and I was really tired, so I got in bed and went to sleep in minutes. I woke up the next day and it was our last day, I went downstairs and saw an awesome iguana hiding in the bushes I took a picture and went back upstairs to pack. When I finished packing it was time to go to the airport. I didn’t want to leave but it was time to go.

I had a lot of fun on this trip and I couldn’t wait to go back.

In science we are learning about lab safety. This is a funny video on something you should never do in a science lab. Hope it makes you laugh!

Cats

My cat is the kind of cat you would see in one of those you tube videos. one time he got his head stuck in a tissue box and when he lifted his head up it was still there. He couldn’t get it off so he tried walking around…he fell over. Then just when I thought he couldn’t get any dumber he got and exterminator trap on his tail, he freaked out and took off running…he fell over, again. I finally took it off of his head, after a couple of pictures and it all went back to normal.
